Western Australia is a biodiversity wonderland. Our Southwest region cradles unique life forms found nowhere else on our planet! Over 60 endemic vertebrates and over 80 exclusive plant species call it home. Imagine Rottnest Island without its unique quokkas! Due to the increasing impact of climate change and the prevalence of deforestation for reasons such as housing, our unique biodiversity is diminishing at an alarming rate. Protecting our irreplaceable biodiversity is now a mission of utmost urgency. Not only do these species play crucial roles in our ecosystem, some also have spiritual and cultural impacts on people, affecting our community. Current approaches to reduce emissions to curb climate change will take a long time to reap results. What we need is immediate, impactful, and innovative solutions to protect our unique biodiversity before it's too late. That's where Bio-Pal comes in.
